Empowering Lexington's West End

Reclaiming the Invisible, Achieving the Impossible

Join us in our mission to uplift and empower the community through dedicated programs and unwavering support.

Our Journey

The West End Community Empowerment Project (WECEP) of Lexington, Inc. was established on January 5, 1995, by a group of dedicated individuals including Tanya S. Clark, Melvin E. Cowan, Sr., and Dora M. Hudson. Incorporated in 1996 and achieving 501(c)(3) status in 1998, WECEP has grown from serving community adults to focusing on youth programs for ages 5-17. Our first grant from the United Way of the Bluegrass marked the beginning of a journey dedicated to community service and empowerment.
